In the old days the cities water was brought with the aqueduct, and at the end of the XVIII century the today arcs were built according to the plans and orders of fray Antonio de San Miguel

Features of Aqueduct

Civil Architecture: It had 253 arcs each one taller than the last one reaching 7.52m high and ending in a water box with clay piping that spread the water to 30 public fountains and 150 particular watering pots. It stop working at the end of the XIX century

Interesting place: The acueduct was rebuilt from an old one from 1705 but that was in a very bad condition. It has a roman style and the pink stone was brough from the Santa María hill
