Takes it's name from the Nahuatl voice meaning "fishermen place". Located on the southeast extreme of the central plateau with a surface of 59,864km² and almost 217km of coast on the pacific ocean.
Surrounded to the east by the states of Guerrero and México State, to the north by the states of Querétaro, Guanajuato and part of Jalisco, to the west with Colima and Jalisco and to the south with Guerrero. Communicates to the rest of the country by plenty of roads and airways, wich grow every day and facilitate access to every main tourist atraction.
Michoacán is characterized by it's wide spectrum of historic and
natural richness, wich has made it the big cultural center it is today.
